Millville Collaborative Safe Dating Initiative
Description:
The Millville collaborative includes Commercial Township, Lawrence Township, Maurice River Township, Woodbine, Millville and Bridgeton School Districts. The total school population for the six districts is almost 10,000 students. To educate adolescents on establishing healthy relationships and address the issue of teen dating violence,the Collaborative will implement Safe Dates in the 8th grade Health Curriculum in Millville, Commercial, Lawrence, Port Norris, and Woodbine in year one. The Safe Dates Curriculum will be implemented in 9th grade in the Health Curriculum in Bridgeton in year two. In year three, the collaborative will add supporting activities in the Family Friendly Center out-of-school programs and the School Based Youth Services Programs that service our students centered on the Safe Dates Curriculum.

STEPS- Success through Exercise Physical Fitness and Sharing Information
Description:
To combat childhood obesity in Cumberland County, South Jersey Healthcare partners with the Cumberland Cape Atlantic YMCA to offer a program of education and support to targeted 8 - 12 year olds and their parents focusing on changing nutrition habits, implementing physical activity and improving environmental behavior to lead to a healthier lifestyle.
