The Art of Healthy Communities is the second annual Creative Placemaking Knowledge Exchange. It will be held on Friday, November 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the New Jersey Institute of Technology Campus Center, 150 Bleeker Street in Newark.
At this event you can learn about new and innovative thinking, research and practice in the field of creative placemaking. It’s designed for people who enjoy thinking about big ideas, and for students, researchers, funders, policy makers and reflective practitioners. Part academic conference, part community forum, the Knowledge Exchange gives you the opportunity to hear from key thinkers and practitioners, and can share your own knowledge.
This year’s theme is on the connections between creative placemaking and public health (both physical and mental). Several presentations will focus on this topic, and there may be a wider range of things to learn and talk about. Those interested in presenting can submit applications for presentations until September 10 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/cpke16
The Knowledge Exchange is produced by The National Consortium for Creative Placemaking in partnership with PlanSmart NJ. It is made possible through support from New Jersey Health Initiatives, New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts Our Town program.
