In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Family Support Organization of Burlington County led this project to address the immediate needs of its community by enhancing its food pantry to include healthy options and distributing grocery store gift cards to residents. In addition, the Family Support Organization of Burlington County provided emergency assistance to families to alleviate financial stress and help with basic household expenses such as housing and medications. Through this project, the Family Support Organization of Burlington County has advanced existing efforts to make nutritious food more readily available and affordable, which could inform an equitable response and recovery throughout the state.

In March 2021, approximately one year after the onset of the pandemic, Family Support Organization of Burlington County Executive Director Deborah Kennedy reflected on the impact of this work. Scroll down to read her blog post.
