The Hispanic Family Center of Southern New Jersey, Inc. (HFC) is working to adapt to the emerging challenges brought on by the COVID-19 crisis to ensure the center can continue delivering its programs and services, and addressing families’ immediate needs. Surveying its clients, HFC has identified the pandemic has had substantial economic impact on the Camden community and East Camden in particular. Through this project, Hispanic Family Center of Southern New Jersey, Inc. is building its capacity to provide supports that can help families cover basic household expenses such as groceries and rent, identify unemployment benefits for which they might be eligible, better understand virtual platforms, access internet services and other technology and more. By the end of this project, HFC will have created sustainable solutions for serving clients, which can inform efforts to build resiliency throughout the state.
