In partnership with the Hispanic Institute for Research and Development, the Northern NJ Maternal/Child Health Consortium has incorporated the Expecting the Best health literacy curriculum into English as a Second Language (ESL) courses offered in Hackensack, North Branch, and Camden. The program provides learners with practical examples that are likely to occur as they encounter the NJ healthcare system by incorporating five hours of health literacy content into each 40-hour ESL course.
